the name of the Party is Democrat, NOT Democratic. just sayin'.

That's actually a common misconception. Lore has it that Republican branding interestingly is responsible for the change because Democratic Party sounded, in Republicans' view, appealing. Allegedly they started intentionally started calling them "Democrats" stressing the "rat" part in the hopes it would strike a negative association.

Regardless of how the shortened moniker came about, the full name is and always has been Democratic Party. Check any formal website associated with them. This excerpt from Britannica will do for this situation:

"Democratic Party, in the United States, one of the two major political parties, the other being the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has changed significantly during its more than two centuries of existence."

I'll have to look. and verify. I have the 1963 Britannica - I am an old shit. I was "born" a dem, parents ran local Committee, NDC, dad was Bill Baird's NY Atty (Medicaid abortion on demand! 1972 - Hyde Amend cooked that!) , always knew it to be the Democrat Party. I'm moving now, collected all th 50's, 60's and 70's attic boxes...... HAHAHAHAH!!! Same shit as today. I bet the collection is worth a fortune - many orignal source material. I'll look.
